We Can Be More Alive At Any Age: Art Shows How Fresh Interest In The World Can Begin!
Join us as special presenters, Devorah Tarrow, Jeffrey Carduner, and Dr. Jaime Torres show how new, lively interest in the world can be, and how we can like ourselves AND the world more! Instances of art and sculpture will show how artists have looked at everyday objects and had people see these objects in a big, new, fresh way. This is all based on Aesthetic Realism, founded by the great poet and philosopher Eli Siegel, who explained “All beauty is a making one of opposites, and the making one of opposites is what we are going after in ourselves.”
For example, does an Oldenburg sculpture of a huge and bright red clothespin tell us the world and objects are never ordinary, but can show us meaning that we’ve never seen before in the ordinary things of the world? We’ll be finding out together!
